Lets try this again.............. I am so excited for tonight's debate, I can hardly stand it. I am going to have to take a nap so that I can stay up for the whole thing.
Here are a couple stories that really got my attention today. Steve Fossett's plane wreckage was found! Talk about closure. I am really glad that they found it. I was thinking that if they couldn't ever find a millionaire, the rest of us had no chance! ;)
I find it interesting that they want to change the driving age to 18. I am not really sure how I feel about this at the moment. I just read the story and need some time to ponder the pros and cons.
The other story that still has me going is in regards to the Auburn Career Center in Lake County. There is a construction program that normally includes a final senior project of building a house! The houses that they construct are usually in the price range of 350,000 - 400,000! I just read that they are "dismayed" that the last two homes have not sold! uuuhhh... YEA... what in the world did they expect in this economy. And now, the Career Center has made the decision to suspend the project for this year. There are a lot of disappointed students, but I think that maybe this is a more valuable lesson. You just shouldn't build that big if the contract is not already sold, or if the economy won't allow for it. I am just not sure why the school wouldn't help get the kids involved with a Habitat for Humanity project or something similar!! I hope that they resolve this soon.
And on a totally unrelated note, my cousin just called and asked me to help look into the laws regarding political signs. It seems as though the condo complex that she resides in has told them that they may NOT display any sign. She works for one of the campaigns and is a bit perturbed by the whole thing. (Reason #563 that I would not choose to live where there is an association... I am MUCH to much of a brat!)
